About the project

We are looking for an experienced Scala Developer to join our Big Data engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data processing and mapping solutions using Apache Spark and Scala. You will work within a dynamic, Agile team that focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable data products in a Hadoop-based environment. Your role will also include contributing to continuous delivery improvements and adopting best engineering practices such as TDD, BDD, and clean code. Collaboration, technical ownership, and an eye for quality are key aspects of this position.

Your responsibilities

• Developing data collection, transformation, and mapping processes using Apache Spark and Scala
• Implementing and optimizing the continuous delivery pipeline using Jenkins, Sonar, Nexus, and Kubernetes
• Conducting code reviews and collaborating with team members on technical solutions
• Ensuring the quality, maintainability, and performance of data products
• Applying engineering best practices, including TDD, BDD, clean code, and peer programming
• Co-developing technical designs and supporting the team in identifying optimal solutions

Our requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Scala in a production environment
• Solid knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem, including Hive, HDFS, Sqoop, and Oozie
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure such as Jenkins, Git, Kubernetes, Maven, and GOCD
• Experience with project and code management tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and Git
• Basic understanding of Python or Java and strong skills in writing SQL queries
• Strong communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and experience working in Agile teams
• Fluent Polish required
• Residing in Poland required
